In his search for complex geometries secretly hidden in stone, Karel found some friends who are working in the same direction. During the Bridges conference (2008) he met Carlo Sequin from the Berkeley University who brought him in contact with one of the world’s leading sculptors Keizo Ushio. Keizo is the master of mathematical stone art, making splitting twisting as huge stand alone object. Karel’s mission is to discover these forms inside the stone. Although this splitting in a ring does not look like the Trefoil, it is the same phenomenon, a ring with a knot on its which may be to the right or to the left, only this time captured in a split torus.
